Welcome to our vigorous undergraduate program offering degrees in physics, astronomy, astrophysics, and a meteorology concentration. Courses and undergraduate research opportunities are available for you in areas such as applied physics, astrophysics, atmospheric physics, biophysics, and computational physics. You can also do a physics cognate in the Discovery Informatics major. The College has a large undergraduate physics program with women comprising nearly one-third of our graduates, significantly higher than the national average.
Positions Available We anticipate filling two assistant professor positions in the astrophysics and one in atmospheric physics to begin fall 2009. For more information see the announcement.
Research Opportunities There are student research opportunities within the department as well as academic year and summer research appointments elsewhere. Our annual Research Poster Session showcases research activities throughout the school.
