Grading Policies

Grade Constitution

Final grades in this course will be constituted according to the following formula:
  • mid-term exam 30%
  • reaction papers to readings, videos, etc. 10%
  • panel symposium paper 35%
  • class participation and attendance 25%
IMPORTANT! The symposium paper is mandatory for all students. Students not completing it will, unfortunately, not succeed in passing this course regardless of their grade standings.

Grade Scale

The grading scale employed in this class to evaluate all examinations, papers, essays, quiz, etc., is as follows:

    A=93-100
    A-=91-92
    B+=88-90
    B=83-87
    B-=81-82
    C+=78-80
    C=73-77
    C-=71-72
    D+=68-70
    D=61-67
    D-=60
    F=0-59
    WA=final grade [adminstrative withdrawal due to excessive absences = F]
    XF=final grade [failure due to academic dishonesty]
