GRADUATION STATUS NOTIFICATION
FALL/SPRING GRADUATES: Students who apply to graduate for either the fall or spring terms will be emailed Graduation Status Notifications during their expected graduation* term. These emails will be sent EXCLUSIVELY to your Edisto email account so it is imperative that you check your account often. We will not send these notices to non-Edisto email accounts. Note: If you fail to apply to graduate, you will not receive a Graduation Status Notification. If you encounter problems using your Edisto email account, please contact the helpdesk for assistance.
If you are graduating in either the fall or spring term and you do not receive a Graduation Status Notification email at least 30 days prior to graduation, contact the graduation area of the Registrar's Office for assistance. The Graduation Status Notification is to inform you of your graduation status and inform you of your commencement eligibility. Click here for additional information and links regarding either the December or May commencement ceremony.
MAYMESTER/SUMMER GRADUATES: All students must apply to graduate, however, students who apply to graduate in one of the Maymester/Summer terms will usually only receive notification if they are NOT on target to graduate as planned. Be sure to submit your application before the term begins. You should consult your advisor and review your degree audit to confirm you are on target to graduate in the term for which you apply.
*The term you will complete your last course(s) required to graduate (see COMMENCENT page for information about ceremony participation).
If your Graduation Status is Preliminarily Cleared (aka: pre-cleared) then you are on track to graduate as planned providing you successfully complete all coursework in progress** including, if applicable, any work still incomplete from prior terms, any pending transfer, NSEP or INST credits and maintaining a 2.000 or higher GPA overall, in your major and, if applicable, in your minor. Students with this status will be on all of our graduation and commencement lists.
**through expected graduation term
If your Graduation Status is Not Preliminarily Cleared (aka: not pre-cleared), it is imperative you resolve this as soon as possible. Please read the notification carefully and follow the instructions. If you made a mistake when completing your Graduation Application and simply need to change your expected graduation term, please complete a Graduation Update form. If assistance is needed please contact our office.
