About CSHACe:
  • CSHACe is a consortium come from governmental agencies, academic institutions and the private sector.
  • CSHACe was originally formed at the College of Charleston through interactions with the USGS’s National Map Program, NOAA’s Coastal Services Center and FEMA’s National Earthquake Hazard Reduction Program (NEHRP) in the spring of 2004.
  • The face to face meeting of consortium members is schedualed for November 12, 2004, Twenty participants representing 11 Agencies and Academic Institiutions will attend the one-day meeting in at the College of Charleston, located in Charleston South Carolina 17 miles (30 K) South East of the 1886 earthqauke epicenter.
  • This first meeting of the consortium is to develop a plan for developing and maintaining the datasets necessary to seismic hazards analysis in the Charleston region.
CSHACe Goal:
  • Our goal is to develop seismic hazard maps for the Charleston Region consistent with the standards and methodology of the USGS Earthquake Hazards Program.
Role of the CSHACe Website:
  • The CSHACe Website is designed as a portal to servers that hold the data and information about the Charleston Seismic Region and the Earthquake of 1886. The Links provided below lead to directory pages that are related to the functional activities of the Consortium.
