Earthquake in Nevada | February 21, 2008

A magnitude 6.3 earthquake occurred in Northeast Nevada on Thursday February 21, 2008 early in the morning (6:16 AM Mountain Time). The earthquake occurred approximately 149 miles west of Salt Lake City. It was felt in Boise, ID and Salt Lake CIty, UT. Water mains and gas lines broke. It was a fairly shallow fault occuring at a 4.2 mile depth along an unknown normal fault.

There was extensive amage around the Nevada area - facades came off of buildings, windows shattered, and chimneys fell.
