The College of Charleston Strives to make community service an integral part of students’ education through course work and meaningful volunteer efforts. These service experiences are intended to be reciprocally beneficial to both the community and the student volunteers.
Service learning is a course program designed to make the goals and lessons of the class come alive by using the students’ knowledge and skills to both benefit the local community and enhance the students’ educational experience.

In 2008, the Bonner Leader Program at College of Charleston was created. With the establishment of this prestigious program, CofC joined a network of over 50 Bonner campuses nationwide.
The BLP enables college students an opportunity to use their energy, talents, and leadership to engage in service while providing developmental & financial support.
