SBE SCHOLARSHIPS

WOMEN AT WORK STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The Women at Work, Inc. Student Achievement Award shall be presented to an outstanding rising senior at the School of Business and Economics who has demonstrated exceptional achievements throughout their junior academic year.

AWARD AMOUNT: $1,000 Award, upon completion of junior academic year

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Preference will be given to a female College of Charleston student of the School of Business and Economics
  • Preference will be given to a student who is a U.S. citizen
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or better for the previous and current academic year
  • Active in student groups and/or outside activities
  • Part-time employment (at least 15 hours/week) while attending as a full time student
  • Provide a brief description as to “How this award would assist you financially?”
  • Involvement or anticipated involvement in an internship
  • Must include a letter of recommendation from either a College of Charleston School of Business and Economics faculty member or employer.
  • Current degree audit
  • Current resume

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: March 14, 2008

AWARD REQUIREMENTS:

    • Student must be present at the awards ceremony on May 9th, 2008 in order to receive the award
    • Student must attend Women at Work luncheon to introduce themselves to our members and to let them know what this gift means to them and how they will utilize it.
    • Attend one more function during his/her senior year to provide us an update on his/her progress and what his/her plans are after graduation.

    SELECTION PROCESS: Selection shall be made by committee and will include a personal interview for the finalists.
