WINNER OF THE 2007-2008 QUATTROCHI MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

Reid Chamberlain awarded the Quattrochi Merit Scholarship 2007-2008. Reid is a rising senior at the College of Charleston, and will be graduating from the Honors College in May Reid Chamberlain Winner Quattrochi Merit Scholarship2008 with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Biology minor. Reid graduated from Shelby High School in Shelby, North Carolina. Since attending the College of Charleston he has been active in Alpha Chi Sigma, the National Chemical Fraternity, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Alpha Epsilon Delta, the National Pre-health Honor Society. He enjoys volunteering his available free time at the Charleston Miracle League and the Trauma Center at MUSC. Reid will be continuing his biochemical research with Dr. Amy Rogers throughout his senior year, and hopes to attend medical school following graduation from the College of Charleston.

The Quattrochi Merit Scholarship created by Peter Lawrence Quattrochi and Jane Elizabeth Quattrochi, an alumna (classes of 1990 and 1993), is awarded on the basis of academic merit and an original 500 word essay. Only full-time Junior/Senior students at the College of Charleston with a declared major in the School of Sciences and Mathematics and a minimum 3.5 grade point average are eligible. A panel consisting of Sciences and Mathematics faculty, English Department faculty, and Quattrochi family members evaluate credentials and the essay to determine the recipient.
