Cybercrime is on the rise and cybersecurity concerns are increasingly important for government and corporate organizations. Because of this, cybersecurity workforce development has become a national priority.

Working jointly with The Citadel, the University of Charleston, S.C. has developed a graduate certificate program in cybersecurity that will prepare students to function as cybersecurity specialists. They will be able to characterize the security profile of different types of networks, analyze and use key cryptography algorithms and be able to secure a system from different kinds of attacks. In addition, certificate holders will have the ability to perform risk assessment and discuss legal and ethical issues relating to cybersecurity.
